Some of our long term clients (10 year plus relationships) and some new (less than two years) - have engaged Esquire on a handful of high priority partner searches. In some cases we are looking for practice groups. In a few cases, our clients have engaged us to handle law firm merger and acquisition discussions in opening new offices. The bottom line: the market is fluid, but certainly more robust than the last several years. Law firms have deeper pockets and a much greater interest in bringing partners into the fold.  In addition, hiring decisions are made much more quickly and the "analysis-paralysis" mind-set has diminished considerably.

Partners are commanding larger compensation packages.
Partner practices are rebounding, books are growing and their market value is increasing. In addition, increased competition for lateral partners - especially those with a practice is enhancing their market value and ability to command higher salaries. We have compelling recent examples which verify this. Bottom-line: More options, greater compensation, new opportunities to leveraging ones practice, expanded platforms and a clear set of options.
